Expanded Return Capabilities with Money-Only Returns to Customers: 2024-05-09 [Version 2.1.4]
You can now process returns with money-only adjustments, while retaining the ability to return goods, with or without money!

Lych is proud to introduce a pivotal update that enhances how returns are managed, by allowing money-only returns through credit and debit notes. This feature expands financial flexibility and simplifies the return process in situations where goods are not physically returned:
Money-Only Transactions: You can now issue credit or debit notes to adjust the financial aspects of a transaction without the need to return the physical goods.
Automated Financial Adjustments: Lych automatically updates financial records and reverses the corresponding income or expense in your accounts, keeping your financial data accurate and reflective of the actual business status.
Inventory Management Integrity: Since no physical goods are returned, your inventory levels remain unchanged, avoiding disruptions in stock data and ensuring consistency in inventory management.
Versatile Sales Adjustments: This flexibility is particularly useful in scenarios such as service cancellations or price adjustments after billing, where physical stock isn't involved but financial rectifications are necessary.
This new capability allows for more nuanced financial management, catering to diverse customer needs while maintaining precise control over both inventory and financial records with Lych.
Instructions
To make a return, go to the Orders section/page, find the order to which a return is being made, and click on "View Sales Order" button.
A view will display on top of the screen with selected order information. Click the "Start Return" button which will open a new display on top of the screen.
On the displayed view titled "Create Credit Note", choose Money under the "Value" input label to return Money Only. By default, you can return goods with/without money with the "Goods" option.
To return Goods with Money, simply adjust the amount to return per item under the "Price" column. The total amount to be returned will be calculated per item under the "Amount" column.
To return Goods without Money, simply input 0 on the "Price" input (input under the Price column).
Note: For orders with multiple items sold, be sure to adjust each items' return amount accordingly. To exclude a single item from a return in such an order, click the trash icon at the far right of the item column.
